NeuroHealth TIA/Stroke Center The ultimate goal of rehabilitation is to return the patient to as independent a lifestyle as possible. Successful stroke rehabilitation is contingent upon many factors, including the severity of brain damage and the attitude of the patient. Rehabilitation for stroke is different for each person. The care team at NeuroHealth works closely with patients to provide a nurturing and supportive environment conducive to both physical recovery and psychological wellbeing. Because patients who have suffered a stroke or a TIA are at risk for future strokes, we also help to identify and treat the risk factors that make them susceptible to stroke. The most common type of stroke is related to atherosclerosis, which is for the most part a preventable and treatable condition. Healthy lifestyle choices such as stopping smoking, losing weight, and exercising regularly can greatly reduce a patient’s risk for suffering stroke. |
