Physical Therapy
Physical therapy focuses on improving strength, flexibility and coordination of the trunk and legs. Physical therapy is often prescribed to treat a host of chronic and episodic neurological disorders. Whether you’re a dystonia patient who requires gait and balance retraining or you suffer from peripheral neuropathy and need to manage spasms and pain, our physical therapy team can develop a program that’s right for you.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on improving arm strength, upper body flexibility and hand coordination. These are functions essential to performing activities of daily living (ADL) such as dressing, preparing meals, eating, performing personal hygiene, writing or completing work-related tasks. Our occupational therapists have extensive experience working with repetitive stress injuries, stroke limitations, and a host of serious chronic conditions including arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, and multiple sclerosis.
Occupational therapy may also encompass treating various visual or cognitive difficulties that interfere with a patient's ability to perform daily tasks.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is prescribed to help patients who are experiencing difficulty speaking, communicating their thoughts, or swallowing. Our certified speech pathologists have experience treating patients with neurodegenerative diseases, memory and movement disorders, traumatic brain injury and stroke limitations. The speech pathologist is a member of a multidisciplinary team that may include your neurologist, a nurse, a physiotherapist, and an occupational therapist. The patient and his or her team will work together to create a custom rehabilitative program specific to your own unique needs.
Behavorial Therapy
Behavioral therapy focuses on cognitive impairment resulting from a range of developmental, acquired and degenerative causes. Our behavioral therapists use various cognitive exercises and activities to help patients improve concentration, attention span, memory, and judgment. |
