About Dementia Dementia is a neurological disorder that affects a person’s ability to think, speak, reason, remember and move. Dementia may also manifest itself in behavioral and personality changes, depending on the area(s) of the brain affected. Some types of dementia get worse with time and cannot be cured. Other types can be treated and reversed. The three most common forms of dementia are Alzheimer's disease, multi-infarct dementia (MID) or vascular dementia, and Lewy body dementia. |
